Weş û war bê @dersimfestival û @berfinadn ! So ein wunderschöner Tag gemeinsam, danke für’s Raum schaffen um unsere Kultur und Traditionen zu leben, extra warmes danke an dich @berfinadn fürs Tür aufmachen und somit mich und meine Kulturarbeit zu unterstützen. Haq razi bo! 🫶🏻

Mein Dank und meine Liebe gilt auch allen die vorbei geschaut haben, ein Lächeln ausgetauscht, meine Arbeit unterstützt und meine Kunst mit nach Hause genommen haben.

Highlight: Am meisten habe ich DEQ unseren Müttern & Großmüttern aufgemalt an diesem Event. Etwas temporäres aber jedoch von unendlicher Bedeutung für mich: Raum geschafft zu haben, in dem unsere älteren Frauen den Mut gefunden haben, sich ihre Gesichter wieder zu markieren.
Jeder Schritt von der Generation vor uns macht es der danach eine Ehre. ❤️‍🔥

Zor spas London - thank you for the hugs, the patience, the warmth. I’ll make sure to be back soon! I’ve had such heartfelt encounters there that reminded me to come back more often!

it’s been a while I’ve shared updates here. Besides my own shifts & challenges - first and foremost it’s been strange to come on here and market my work while many parts of our homelands endure cycles of unbearable weight.
Thinking of everyone whose families, memories and homes are caught in these inhumane storms, leaving a long shadow of grief and trauma behind. I pray for peace for all of us in the region very soon.

Alas work continues.
Some have messaged that especially now marking DEQ is more necessary and wished for to them.

To show visibility right as erasure tries to diminish our cultures.

To continue expressing ourselves in the shadow of war, to insist that our stories are still here.

This month as I’ll be touring with BIJI - I look forward to holding you all deeply in London, Stockholm & Berlin. May each dot we mark wipe away a tear of sorrow. May it unify us, make us louder and stronger together.

Newroz is ahead, spring. A new cycle. Let’s hold onto this hope as all those before us did.

If you see me, come hug me. Let’s hold our hands and not just remember but feel that we’re in this together.
